Kal. 22 LR, Simson & Co. Suhl, double set trigger, barrel finished with a horn

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

There is many subjects concerning .22’s on the forum but I did not found any that helps me. Any idea what model of rifle is on the pictures attached to my post? Any idea on the history of this model? Number made, etc.? Where to look for more information?

Maybe is modified 315? Maybe numbers on wood (15040) shows catalog number since for model 315 it would be 10053 or 10060 etc.

Anyone have Suhl catalog?

Thank you,

Hello Adrian, welcome.

Your rifle was made before September, 19th, 1933, the company name changed to "BSW".

I have seen some of these rifles, all of them with double set trigger (deutscher Stecher), but none with this kind of mannlicher stock (Stutzenschaft).

The second backsight seems to be not an original one.

For further information you should check a pre war catalogue from "Noris" or "Alfa":

free download.

Good luck, regards from cologne,

Here is a rifle like yours at Dorotheum, Vienna, manufactured later, with normal stock:
