I am looking for the old RWS 4,8g (74grs) fmj bullet in cal 224 for reloding ammunition for capercaillie hunting.

I saw you are looking for the old RWS 4.8 g (74 gr) bullet in .224 cal for your capercaillie load.
I found a dealer here in Germany who still offers them:

This shop (Wiederladen Alzey) is well known among reloaders here and absolutely reliable.

Yes, with a 1:9" twist barrel the RWS 74 gr (.224) should stabilize fine.
With the older 1:14" twist (common in classic .222 rifles) it would not work well.
Barrel length is less critical – but I would recommend at least 18 inches to keep velocity and stability consistent.
Twist rate is the key factor.

The 74 grs kegelspitz its still avaible but its the 74grs fmj bullet I am searching.

nyt ymmärrän – pahoittelut väärinkäsityksestä minun puoleltani.
Luulin, että etsit vanhaa RWS 74 gr Kegelspitz pehmeäkärkistä luotia, mutta tarkoititkin jo lopetettua RWS 74 gr FMJ -luotia (.224 cal). Valitettavasti RWS ei enää valmista tätä FMJ-versiota.

Vaihtoehtoja samassa painoluokassa (70–77 gr) voisivat olla:

• Lapua Scenar L 77 gr FMJBT (.224) – erittäin tasalaatuinen, paljon käytetty kilpa-ammunnassa.

• Sako .224 FMJ 70 gr – saatavilla joissakin Pohjoismaiden markkinoilla.

• Hornady .224 FMJ-BT 75 gr – yleinen korvike, hyvä tarkkuus.

• Sierra MatchKing 77 gr HPBT – ei aivan FMJ, mutta hyvin lähellä, laajasti käytetty tarkkuuskivääreissä.

Jos etsit nimenomaan RWS 74 gr FMJ -luotia, niitä löytyy todennäköisesti vain vanhoina varastojääminä.
